February 4, 1944 — March 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Patrick Author Fox, affectionately known to many as "Pat," on March 17, 2026, at the age of 82. Pat peacefully departed this world after a long and courageous battle with a chronic illness. His enduring spirit and unwavering love for his family and friends will forever remain etched in our hearts. Born on February 4, 1944, in the humble town of Dekalb, Mississippi, Pat was the beloved son of Twitty and Ruby Fox. Growing up in a time and place where formal education was not always readily accessible, Pat's early years were spent working diligently in the fields. Despite these challenges, he developed an unyielding work ethic and a profound appreciation for the simple joys of life. In 1958, Pat's life took a beautiful turn when he met Sharon Pennington, who would become the love of his life and his steadfast partner through all of life's trials and triumphs. Their love story spanned decades, serving as a testament to their unbreakable bond and deep commitment to one another. Pat was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, cherishing his family above all else. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving children: his sons, Brian & Isiah Fox, and his daughters, Tamesha, Donyetta, Iisha Fox. Pat's legacy is further carried on by his two brothers, Sherman Fox and Red Fox, as well as his extensive family of 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life. Preceding him in death are his parents, Twitty and Ruby Fox, his brother and sisters, his son, Patrick Fox, and his daughter, Tegra Fox. Though their absence is deeply felt, we find comfort in knowing that they are reunited once more in eternal peace. A hardworking and dedicated man, Pat spent 12 years as a construction worker, building not just structures, but a foundation of love and security for his family. He later found his calling at Universal Recycling, where he worked for ten years, and also took great pride in hauling metal until illness necessitated his retirement. Beyond his professional life, Pat was a man of simple pleasures. He found joy in the companionship of his beloved dogs, Roco, Sadi, and Cronic, who were cherished members of his family. His love for animals was only rivaled by his love for his family, whom he supported with unwavering dedication and warmth. Pat's life was a testament to resilience, love, and the power of family. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and an indomitable spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew him. A celebration of Pat's life will be held in the days to come, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived and a man who was deeply loved. As we mourn the loss of Pat, we also celebrate the incredible journey he embarked upon and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter in memory of Pat's love for his furry companions. May his soul rest in peace, knowing he was cherished and his life profoundly mattered.
