February 4, 1944 — March 17, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patrick Author Fox, a beloved father, partner, and friend, who departed this world on March 17, 2026, after a valiant battle with illness. Born on February 4, 1944, in the lush and soulful heart of Mississippi, Patrick, known fondly as Pat, was a man whose life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to his family. Pat was the cherished son of Twitty and Ruby Fox, who predeceased him, alongside his brother and sisters. Raised in a time and place that did not afford him the privilege of formal education, Pat spent his early years working tirelessly in the fields of Mississippi, where he developed a profound work ethic and an unyielding spirit that would guide him throughout his life. In 1958, Pat's life took a joyous turn when he met Sharon Pennington, the love of his life and his steadfast companion for all the years that followed. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising a beautiful family that became the center of Pat's world. He is survived by his devoted partner, Sharon, his two sons, Brian and Isaiah Fox, and his three daughters, Tamesha and Donyetta Fox, as well as his two brothers, Sherman and Red Fox. Pat's legacy of love and perseverance continues through his 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each a testament to the family bonds he held so dear. Pat's career was marked by hard work and dedication. He spent 12 years as a construction worker, where his hands crafted the very structures that housed dreams and hopes. Later, he dedicated a decade to Universal Recycling, contributing to a more sustainable world. Even in his later years, before illness took its toll, Pat found joy and purpose in hauling metal, embodying the resilience that defined his life. Outside of work, Pat's heart belonged to his family and his beloved dogs, Roco, Sadi, and Cronic, who were his constant companions. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he worked tirelessly to provide them with a life of opportunity and warmth. Pat was a man who wore love and loyalty like a badge of honor, a testament to his character and the values instilled in him from a young age. A service to honor and celebrate Patrick's life will be held on April 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Zapata Funeral Home, located at 445 N. American St. The family invites all who knew Pat to join them in remembering a life well-lived, a soul well-loved. In this time of sorrow, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their well-wishes, prayers, phone calls, and donations. Your support has been a beacon of light in this difficult time. We ask that you continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this profound loss.
