In Loving Memory

Patricia Zachery
May 26, 1945 — April 7, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Patricia Zachery, a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Born on May 26, 1945, in Greensboro, North Carolina, Patricia departed this world on April 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Patricia was the beloved daughter of the late Clara Bell and Norris Zachery, who instilled in her the values of compassion and community. These values became the cornerstone of her life, as she opened her heart and home to countless individuals, embodying the true spirit of hospitality. Her doors were always open, her pots never empty, serving as a refuge and source of nourishment for those in need.
A dedicated homemaker, Patricia was also the proud owner and operator of Zach's Record Shop, sharing her love for music with the community. Her career included a decade of service at L.C.P. Plastics Co. before she chose to dedicate her life to her family and neighborhood, nurturing everyone with her warmth and generosity.
Patricia was the proud mother of four daughters: Carolyn Zachery, Cynthia "Tina" Chapman (married to Charlie Chapman), Winifer Terry (married to Robert Terry), and Verneka Zachery. Her daughters were her pride and joy, and together they formed a family deeply bonded by love and shared traditions, such as their cherished annual attendance at the Homecoming Services at Liberty Hill A.M.E. Church in Sharpsburg, Georgia.
Her family extended further, including two sisters, Rosalyn Smith and Deloris Williams, and two brothers, Willie H. Arnold (married to Belinda) and Jessie Arnold (married to Martha). Patricia's legacy lives on in her nine grandchildren—Saxton Zachery (married to Natasha), LaKilra Zachery, Tiffany Zachery, Ashley Zachery, Brandon Terry, Parris Terry, Franklin Zachery, and Christopher Zachery—and sixteen great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Patricia was known for her quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. Her kindness and generosity touched countless lives, as she lived by the teachings of Matthew 25:35-40, embodying the spirit of service and compassion to all.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 2:30 PM at the Triad Cremation & Funeral Service, located at 2110 Servomation Rd, Greensboro, NC 27407. As we gather to honor her memory, we hold close the words shared by her family:
"When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not here to see, if the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me, I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn't get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me, too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. And said my place was ready in heaven far above and that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home when God looked down and smiled at me from His great golden throne. He said, 'This is eternity and all I've promised you.' For your life on earth is past, but here it starts anew. I promised no tomorrow, for today will always last, and since each day's the same way, there's no longing for the past. So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart."
Patricia’s life was a testament to love, faith, and the power of community. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
