It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Patricia Whittaker, who departed this world on June 17, 2026, at the age of 90. Patricia, affectionately known as Pat, left us peacefully at her home after a courageous battle. She was surrounded by the love of her family, a testament to the remarkable life she led. Born on August 25, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Pat was the cherished daughter of the late William Howard and Clarabelle Jacobs Pryor. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Whittaker, her cherished daughter, Linda Fisher, and her parents. Her spirit, strength, and warmth live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. A devoted mother and grandmother, Pat is survived by her children: Susan Fisher, Jean Comfort, Bob Fisher, and Verne Fisher, as well as her treasured grandchildren, Chandra, Kelsey, Rachel, Victoria, and Jacob. Her legacy continues through her great-granddaughter, Annabel, who brought immense joy to her later years. Pat is also survived by her siblings, John Pryor (Judy), Roger Pryor (Judy), and Howard Pryor (Linda), her first husband, Lewis Fisher, and her sister-in-law, Phyllis Formhals. Numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will remember Pat for her kindness and generosity. Pat’s educational journey took her to Iowa State University and later to a secretarial school in Wisconsin, where she honed her skills and began a fulfilling career. She excelled as a personal shopper and retail sales professional, earning numerous Top Sales awards at Talbots. Known for her impeccable style and grace, Pat was always "put together," leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. A lifelong member of the Congregational Church, Pat dedicated herself to various organizations and causes close to her heart. She was an active participant in church youth education, the PTA, and multiple singing groups, including Sweet Adelines and the church choirs. Pat was a devoted friend of Bill W. for over 50 years, and her passion for helping others extended to her 40+ years of volunteer work with the Special Olympics of MA. Her unwavering support and advocacy for individuals with special needs, inspired by her role as a mother of a Special Olympian, left an indelible mark on the community. Pat's zest for life was evident in her hobbies and interests. She had a green thumb and took great pleasure in gardening, often “teaching” Chandra to weed before they set off for the beach. A world traveler, Pat explored the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Europe, North and Central America, and beyond with her son, Verne. She was also a talented dollhouse miniature builder and decorator and maintained an extensive teddy bear collection with her daughter Linda. Pat's kindness, dedication, and generosity were matched only by her stylish elegance and feisty spirit. She was a tireless advocate for the underdog and continued to champion the rights and well-being of her fellow residents at Wingate in her later years. Her nurses admired her spirited nature, a testament to her enduring strength and resilience. A celebration of Pat's life will be held on August 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the United Church of Christ-Congregational Church, located at 460 Main St., Norwell, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Special Olympics of MA, South Shore Mariners, 512 Forest St., Marlborough, MA 01753, to continue Pat's legacy of love and support.
