With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia "Trish" Valdez, a beloved wife, sister, and friend, who left us on July 4, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on May 1, 1959, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Trish was the cherished daughter of Litha Estella Carney and Raymond Lloyd Keeling. Trish spent her life bringing warmth and joy to those around her. Her smile could light up any room, and her honest, matter-of-fact demeanor endeared her to many. A woman of strong opinions, she was also known for her unwavering support and loyalty to her friends and family. On January 18, 2013, Trish married the love of her life, Roderick Valdez, in Kenosha. Their union was a testament to love and laughter, as they spent 27 wonderful years together. Alongside Rod, Trish raised several adored German Shepherds—Max, Lucky, Prince, Macy, and Sheba—who brought immense joy to their lives. Professionally, Trish dedicated her career to excellence as a quality inspector, a role she held with pride until her retirement. But it was her personal passions that truly defined her. Trish was an avid pool player, finding joy in the precision and camaraderie the game offered. She was also a lover of the outdoors, often taking long walks on the beach and through the woods, where she found peace and solace. Music was another of her great loves, and she attended countless live concerts, reveling in the energy and connection that only live music can bring. Trish leaves behind her devoted husband, Rod Valdez, and the entire Valdez family, who will forever cherish her memory. Her passing is a profound loss to all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched. A celebration of Trish's life will be held on July 17, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, located at 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, IL 60099. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Trish's memory may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
