It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Patricia Sockness, who departed this life peacefully at home on February 12, 2026. Patricia was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on August 16, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, Patricia was the beloved daughter of Louise and Mitchell. She carried the values instilled in her by her parents throughout her life, leading with kindness, generosity, and an ever-present sense of humor. Patricia's life was a testament to resilience and joy. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Louise and Mitchell, her sister Doreen, and her brother Larry. Despite these profound losses, Patricia's spirit remained unbroken, and she found immense joy in her family, particularly in her role as a devoted mother to her daughters, Courtney Sockness (Katie Cain), Melissa Macdonald, and Kimberly Pool (Chris Pool). Her love and pride extended to her cherished grandchildren, Kelli, Konnor, and Keaton Reagon, who brought immeasurable joy to her later years. After graduating in Chicago, Patricia embarked on a successful career as a real estate agent. Her keen mind and personable nature made her a big selling agent, respected and admired by colleagues and clients alike. Her professional achievements, however, never overshadowed her personal passions. Patricia loved the simple pleasures of life: the serenity of a well-tended garden, the gentle sway of a boat ride, and the loyal companionship of her beloved dogs. Her laughter was infectious, her quick wit always ready to lighten the mood and share a joke. Patricia's legacy is one of warmth and joy, a reflection of her vibrant personality and her ability to embrace life fully. Her family and friends will forever remember her as a beacon of love and laughter, whose memory will continue to inspire and comfort them. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Patricia's life, in accordance with her wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to honor Patricia consider a donation to a local animal shelter, in recognition of her lifelong love for dogs. Patricia Sockness will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
