Patricia "Patty" Hogue
May 11, 1944 — June 24, 2026
In the gentle embrace of a June afternoon, Patricia "Patty" Hogue, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully left this world on June 24, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by her cherished family at West Tennessee Healthcare in Dyersburg, TN. Her passing marked the end of a beautiful chapter of life, but her legacy of love and music will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.
Born on May 11, 1944, in the warm community of Brownsville, TN, Patty was the treasured daughter of the late Evan Blakenship and Virginia Dell (Beard) Williams. From a young age, Patty's life was a testament to the power of grace, kindness, and talent. She was a proud alumna of Halls High School, where she graduated as Salutatorian in 1962. That same year, on November 25, she began a lifelong journey with her devoted husband, Allen Donald Hogue. Together, they wove a tapestry of love that spanned 63 remarkable years.
Music was the gentle current that flowed through Patty's life. A gifted pianist, she began playing at the tender age of 13 and shared her passion by teaching others. Her melodies graced the sanctity of Halls First Baptist Church, where she played the piano and organ, bringing comfort and joy to countless congregations. Patty's voice also soared in cantatas and events, a testament to her dedication to her faith and community.
Her artistic flair was not confined to music alone. Patty had a unique talent for decorating and flower arranging, transforming her home into a haven of beauty and warmth. Yet, it was the love she poured into her family that truly defined her. Patty cherished every moment with her loved ones, finding joy in their presence and pride in their accomplishments.
Patty leaves behind a loving family who will forever celebrate her life. Her devoted husband, Allen, continues to reside in Halls, TN, where their shared memories linger in every corner. She is also survived by her daughter, LeAnne (Doug) Cherry of Halls, TN, and her son, Allen Hogue of Dyersburg, TN. Her legacy is carried forward by her six adoring grandchildren: Robert Hewes of Scott City, MO, Tad Hogue, Brandon Hogue, Joshua Hogue of Knoxville, TN, Wade Cherry of Halls, TN, and Katye Durham of Murfreesboro, TN, as well as one precious great-grandchild.
A celebration of Patty's life will be held on June 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Halls First Baptist Church, located at 102 E Tigrett St. Halls, TN. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived, a life that was filled with music, love, and unyielding devotion to her family and faith.
As we bid farewell to Patty, we find solace in knowing that her spirit will forever echo in the halls of her church, in the melodies of a piano, and in the hearts of her family. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Halls Funeral Home for their compassionate service during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a music education program, so Patty's love for music can continue to inspire future generations.
Halls Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ms. Patricia Hogue. Patty's indelible mark on this world will be cherished and remembered always.
