Patricia Patton
September 24, 1936 — July 19, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Patricia "Pat" Patton, who left this world peacefully on July 19, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on September 24, 1936, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Pat's journey through life was marked by love, service, and an enduring dedication to her family and community.
Pat will be remembered as a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Archie, whom she married in the picturesque city of Stuttgart, Germany. Together, they crafted a beautiful life, enriched by shared adventures, mutual support, and a love that transcended time and space. Although Archie predeceased her, their love story remains a lasting testament to the power of companionship and devotion.
Education was a cornerstone of Pat's life. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and dedicated over two decades to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher in Novato. Her passion for teaching was recognized when she was honored as Teacher of the Year in 1986, a testament to her commitment to education and her students. Her influence extended beyond the classroom, as she selflessly volunteered with various organizations, notably giving her time to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Our Lady of Lorreto, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and generosity.
Pat possessed an innate ability to make anyone feel welcome, with a warm smile and a genuine interest in the stories of those she encountered. Her love for conversation and her open heart made her a cherished friend to many.
An avid quilter, Pat found joy in creating beautiful blankets for every child who graced her life, each stitch woven with love and care. Her embroidery machine was her creative outlet, a tool through which she expressed her affection for family and friends. Pat's love for travel took her across the United States and to many corners of the world, where she gathered memories as vibrant as the fabrics she stitched together.
Pat leaves behind a legacy of love, embodied in her family: her cherished grandchildren, numbering five, and her adored great-grandchild. Each carries forward her values and the warmth of her spirit.
A service to celebrate Pat's life will be held at Our Lady of Lorreto in Novato, CA. As we gather to honor her memory, we invite those who wish to continue Pat's legacy of generosity to consider making a contribution to the local food bank, an organization close to her heart.
Patricia Patton's life was a tapestry of love, learning, and service. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the hearts she warmed. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and fondly remembered.
