It is with profound sadness and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia "Patsy" Brennen Anandarau on July 12, 2026. Patsy departed this world from a memory care facility, surrounded by love, after a life luminously lived for 87 years. Born on May 30, 1939, in New Jersey, Patsy was the beloved daughter of the late Alice Vance Brennen and Thomas Frances Brennen. Her early years were spent amidst the warmth of a large and loving family, which included her predeceased siblings Mary Jane Brennen Luther, Thomas (Tom) Brennen, Alice Brennen Brady, John (Jack) Brennen, William (Bill) Brennen, Paul Brennen, Robert (Bob) Brennen, James (Jim) Brennen, and Charles (Charlie) Brennen. Patsy's life was a vibrant tapestry of dedication, love, and generosity. She was married to the love of her life, Anand Anandarau, who passed away in 2012. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and hospitality, embracing family both in the United States and India. Their shared love for travel and diverse cultures enriched their lives and those around them. A devoted nurse, Patsy received her nursing degree in Brooklyn and committed over 50 years to caring for heart patients in intensive care. Her career was a testament to her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication to the well-being of others. Beyond her professional life, Patsy was a lifelong learner with an insatiable curiosity. She was an avid reader, particularly of biographies and history, and had a passion for travel, decorating, crafts, and gardening. Patsy also delighted in cooking Indian cuisine, sharing her culinary creations with family and friends. Patsy will be remembered for her quick wit and irreverent sense of humor, qualities that brought laughter and joy to those fortunate enough to know her. She was a fierce advocate for the downtrodden and generously supported numerous charities, embodying a spirit of compassion and kindness. She is survived by her beloved sisters, Mildred "Millie" Brennen Blackwell (Glen Blackwell), Catherine Brennen Quist (Al Quist), and Sharron Brennen Rubeck (Bob Rubeck). Patsy was adored by her approximately 46 nieces and nephews, among whom Jon Quist and Tracey Bisazza held a special place in her heart, acting as her loving caregivers and companions in her later years. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Peaceful Pines Memory Care in Manasquan, NJ.
