It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Patricia Ortiz Colon, who left us on June 21, 2026, at the age of 78. Patricia passed away peacefully after suffering a stroke, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Her journey began on November 28, 1947, in the vibrant land of Puerto Rico, where she was born to her cherished mother, Teresa Colon. Patricia was a woman of profound strength and grace, whose life was a tapestry woven with devotion, resilience, and unconditional love. For over fifty years, she shared an extraordinary partnership with her devoted husband, Carlos Barbosa. Together, they built a foundation of love and compassion, nurturing a family that now stands as her enduring legacy. A loving mother, Patricia was predeceased by her treasured daughters Maria Barbosa, Millie Barbosa, Cynthia Garcia, and Stephanie Colon. Though they have gone before her, Patricia's love for her daughters was eternal, and she is undoubtedly reunited with them in the embrace of peace. Patricia leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Carlos Barbosa, and their surviving children. Her legacy extends through her ten grandchildren, who were each a source of immense pride and joy to her, and her two great-grandchildren, who brought light into her life in her later years. Her life will be celebrated with a service on June 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM, held at St. Mary's Church, located at 235 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY. It will be a moment to honor the love and light Patricia brought into the world, a time for family and friends to gather in remembrance of a life so beautifully lived. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for attending and for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Patricia's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, as her kindness, wisdom, and warmth remain a guiding light for those she leaves behind. In celebrating Patricia's life, we remember her as a beacon of love, whose gentle spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever be a part of our lives, guiding us with her enduring love and strength.
