It is with heartfelt sorrow and deep admiration that we announce the passing of Patricia McKinnon (nee Therault) who departed this world on March 10, 2026, just shy of her 91st birthday. Born on March 19, 1935, in the vibrant city of Toronto, Patricia lived a life full of grace, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Patricia faced her final days with the same courage and dignity that characterized her entire life. She passed away at RVH, having bravely battled cancer, surrounded by the love and prayers of those who held her dear. Her courage in the face of adversity was a testament to her strength and spirit, leaving a legacy of hope and perseverance for her family.
Patricia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stewart McKinnon, with whom she shared a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Together, they built a family rooted in love and unity, and Patricia's devotion to her family was unmatched. She leaves behind her loving children, Deborah Lynn (Dave) and Michael (Erica), who were the pride and joy of her life.
As a sister, Patricia was a source of strength and companionship. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Witherell, and is survived by her sister Helen Dettman, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Nicholas (Kris), Farah Lynn, Kelly (Rob), and Andrew (Tovie), each of whom she adored and cherished deeply. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Peyton, Taylor, Carter, Riley, and the spirited twins, Buster and Butch, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life.
Patricia was also a beloved aunt, fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews who were touched by her kindness and warmth. Her family was her world, and she took immense pride in being a guiding light and a source of unconditional love and support.
In Patricia's memory, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, an organization close to her heart, in the hope of advancing care and research for those facing similar battles. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the RVH Hudson Cancer team for their extraordinary care and compassion during Patricia's journey.
As we say goodbye to Patricia, we remember her as a beacon of love and grace, whose life was a testament to the power of family, resilience, and kindness. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved Stewart, and may her memory continue to inspire us all.
