Patricia Mae Fenner, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family. Born on September 15, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Joel and Ella Mae. Her journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to family, her community, and her passions. Patricia was a proud graduate of the Chicago public school system, completing her education at Flowers High School. Her thirst for knowledge led her to further her studies at Malcolm X College and Loyola University. Patricia's professional journey was as varied as it was fulfilling, having dedicated her talents to the artistry of hairdressing and the nurturing role of a teacher at Henson Elementary School. Her work was more than a career; it was a testament to her passion for creativity and education. Patricia was a devoted member of the Holy Missionary Baptist Church, where she found spiritual guidance and community under the leadership of Rev. R. L. Jackson. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing strength and solace to her and those around her. Known for her kindness and generosity, Patricia was a woman whose heart was as large as her smile. She was unafraid to speak her mind, often using her candid nature to lovingly guide those she cared for. Her love for her family was boundless, especially for her cherished son, Gerald Sr., and her treasured grandchildren, whom she adored and doted on as their beloved morning "alarm clock." Patricia had a remarkable love for animals, particularly her three cats, and she shared an unbreakable bond with them. Her passion for baking and cooking was well-known, with her banana pudding and cheesecake being family favorites that she guarded closely to ensure they were enjoyed just as she intended. Patricia leaves behind her devoted husband, Alton Jordon, her beloved son Gerald Sr. and his wife Lenora, and her cherished siblings,Livi, Cornell and Christian, along with her brother-in-law Carl, and sisters-in-law Patricia and Elizabeth. Her legacy continues through her 8 grandchildren Jeremiah. F Briana ( iowa) Isaiah, Jeremiah. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, brothers Johnell and Samuel Parker, and her nephew Charles. A celebration of Patricia's life will be held on September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Unique Funeral Chapel, located at 1511 S. Pulaski Rd. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the memory of a woman whose life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and unyielding strength. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Patricia's memory. Her spirit of giving and compassion will live on through these contributions, continuing to touch lives as she did in her lifetime.
