It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Patricia Mackie, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this world on May 12, 2026, at the age of 70. Patricia was born to Matthew and Jean Dawson on October 11, 1955, in Greensboro, North Carolina, a place she always held dear to her heart. Patricia was a woman of remarkable talent and warmth, whose life was a testament to the power of love and resilience. Raised in a loving family, she was the proud sister to five sisters—Cynthia, Barbara, Yolanda, Samantha, and Vanessa—and two brothers, John and Kurt, along with her beloved brother, Matthew Jr. Together, they created a family tapestry woven with laughter, shared memories, and unconditional support. After completing her early education in the Greensboro school district, Patricia pursued her passion for beauty and cosmetology at the Wilfred Beauty Academy in the Bronx, New York. She excelled in her studies and became a beacon of style and grace, renowned for her ability to transform hair and makeup into art. Patricia had an innate talent for making those around her feel beautiful and confident, always with a twinkle in her eye and a contagious sense of humor. Her dedication to her craft was only surpassed by her love for her family. Patricia was blessed with a loving marriage to her late husband, Ronald Mackie, with whom she shared a life full of adventure and love. Though Ronald preceded her in death, their love story remains a cherished memory, one that inspired all who knew them. Together, Patricia and Ronald built a beautiful family. She is survived by her sons, Robert Dawson, Rodney Dawson, Ronald Mackie Jr., and her daughters-in-law, Laticia Bethea (Dawson) and Shaka Mackie. Her love and wisdom extended to her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Patricia was also a devoted aunt to a host of nieces and nephews, who adored her for her kindness and generosity. Though Patricia's journey on this earth has come to an end, her spirit and legacy live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her infectious laughter, and her profound ability to bring beauty into the world. Patricia was a guiding light, a source of inspiration, and a cornerstone of her family, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her immediate family, Patricia leaves behind a vast circle of extended family and close friends who were blessed by her presence. Her life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds of family. A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of the remarkable woman she was. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to a charity close to Patricia's heart. Patricia Mackie's life was a brilliant tapestry of love, beauty, and resilience. As we say goodbye to a remarkable woman, we hold her memory close, finding comfort in the legacy she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Patricia, knowing you are forever loved and cherished.
