It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia Mackie, who departed this world on May 12, 2026, at the age of 70. Born in the vibrant city of Greensboro, North Carolina, on October 11, 1955, Patricia was a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew her. Patricia was the cherished daughter of the late Matthew and Jean Dawson, who instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family. She was predeceased by her adored husband, Ronald Mackie, whom she shared a beautiful life with, and her great-grandson, Hendision Dawson, who held a special place in her heart. A devoted mother and grandmother, Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her son, Robert Dawson; daughter-in-law, Laticia Bethea (Dawson); her sons, Rodney Dawson, Ronald Mackie Jr., Shaka Mackie; and her daughter, Neisha Mackie. Patricia was also blessed with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her spirit within them. Patricia's siblings, Cynthia, Barbara, Yolanda, Samantha, Vanessa, John, Kurt, and Matthew Jr., along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends, will deeply miss her presence, her laughter, and her unwavering support. Her family was her world, and she was the heart of theirs. Patricia received her early education in the Greensboro, North Carolina school district and pursued her passion for beauty by attending the Wilfred Beauty Academy in the Bronx, New York, where she earned a degree in Cosmetology. Her talent with makeup and hair was unmatched, and she brought joy and confidence to many through her craft. She was known for her ability to "slay that hair," a testament to her creativity and dedication to her work. Patricia's life was a testament to love, compassion, and strength. She was a woman of unwavering faith, and her home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality. Her laugh was infectious, and her hugs were like no other—full of love and reassurance. Patricia had a remarkable ability to bring people together, and her presence was a gift to all who knew her. As we say goodbye to Patricia, we remember her not just for the life she lived but for the lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends forever. A celebration of Patricia Mackie's extraordinary life will be held at Mercy Hill Church on May 18 2026. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time. Patricia's love and legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she left behind. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Patricia's name to a charity of your choice, as a way to honor her generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
