Patricia M. Cooper, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at the Cornell Health Center in Cornell, Wisconsin, after a prolonged illness. Born on May 24, 1945, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Wesley and Bernice Tobin. Growing up in a close-knit family, Patricia was predeceased by her parents and her dear sisters, Dottie and Jackie. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry Cooper of Sheldon, Wisconsin, with whom she shared a loving marriage since November 17, 1962, when they wed in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. Patricia was a nurturing and dedicated mother to her four children: Leslie Greensides of Venice, Florida, Brian (Kim) Cooper of Plover, Wisconsin, Casey Cooper of Rockford, Illinois, and Patrick (Carolina) Cooper of Poplar Grove, Illinois. Her legacy extends to her cherished grandchildren, Marie, Amy, John, Rebecca, Danielle, Wyatt, and Colton, and her great-grandchildren, Ethon, Zoey, Laurel, Jaxon, Warren, Greta, Fox, Wilder, Cooper, and Rosabel. Patricia's life was marked by hard work and commitment. After graduating from Mahtomedi High School in 1962, she served as a Nurse's Aide at Medina Nursing Home in Durand, Illinois. Her career included positions in the Human Resources Department at Freeport Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Illinois, as well as roles at Radio Shack and River Country Co-op in Sheldon, Wisconsin. A woman of many talents and passions, Patricia found joy in fishing with her husband, especially on the Chippewa Flowage near Hayward, Wisconsin. Her love for sewing was evident in the beautiful clothes she made for her children, including her daughter's wedding dress. Baking and gardening were her other beloved pastimes, and she was well-known for her infamous Christmas wreaths, which she generously shared with neighbors and friends. Patricia's warm and friendly nature ensured she never met a stranger. She had the gift of making connections and cherished the friendships she formed in every community she lived. Her kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew her. The family expresses its deepest gratitude to the staff at Cornell Health Center for their years of care and kindness, as well as to St. Croix Hospice for the special attention given to Patricia in her final years. In honor of Patricia's life and legacy, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of one's choice. A private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate Patricia's life, reflecting the intimacy and warmth she shared with her family throughout her years. Patricia M. Cooper will be profoundly missed but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
