Patricia Lynn Holous

It is with both heavy hearts and profound gratitude that we announce the passing of Patricia Lynn Holous, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Born on February 16, 1941, in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, Patricia gracefully departed this world on July 28, 2026, enveloped in the love of her devoted family and dear friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. Patricia, affectionately known as Pat, was the beloved daughter of Duane and Daire Hannah. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Joseph Holous; her brother Mike; her cousin Karen's husband Ben; her sister-in-law Carol; and her loving parents. Her marriage to Joe, which began in 1961 after meeting at Alhambra High School, became a testament to enduring love and partnership. Patricia embraced life with a spirit of warmth and generosity, qualities she shared with her surviving family members: her children, Cyndi Bauer and Brad Holous, and their spouses, Paul and Paula. Her legacy of love continues through her four grandchildren, Zack, Jordan Shornack, Dylan, and Jordan, and her four great-grandchildren, Sutton, Beckham, Kieran, and Abba. Also dear to her heart were her nieces Cathie, Anne, Deanna, Susan, her cousin Karen, and a wide circle of treasured friends. A proud alumnus of Alhambra High School, Pat went on to study journalism at Cal State LA. Her career was as diverse as it was fulfilling, having worked as a secretary in a law firm, at Standard's Brands paint store, and eventually owning GM Depot in Old Town Covina for around 20 years. Beyond her professional endeavors, Pat found great joy in volunteering as a docent at Hurst Ranch in West Covina, where she shared her love for history and crafts with countless elementary students. Patricia possessed a remarkable green thumb, delighting in nurturing her garden full of tomatoes and strawberries. Her family cabin in Arrowbear served as a sanctuary where she relished the tranquility of nature. Her beloved cat, Mini, was a constant companion, sharing in the comfort of quiet moments and the joy of daily rituals. A lover of words and games, Pat enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble, always bringing her sharp wit and kindness to every gathering. Those who knew Pat were touched by her wisdom, thoughtfulness, and the effortless way she made everyone feel welcome. She had an unmatched ability to find solutions to any challenge, often "MacGyvering" her way through projects with creativity and resolve. Her unwavering spirit and refusal to give up became an inspiration to all who were blessed to know her. As we celebrate Pat's remarkable life, the family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated team at City of Hope in Duarte, whose genuine care over the past two years brought comfort to Pat and her family. In particular, the family wishes to thank hospice nurses Vanessa, Guendi, and Samantha for their compassionate support. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Patricia's memory to the City of Hope in Duarte, CA, in recognition of the exceptional care and hope they provide to so many. Patricia Lynn Holous leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she touched. She felt immensely blessed by the love and friendship that surrounded her throughout her life and during her final days.
