It is with complex emotions and a heavy heart that we reflect upon the life of Patricia Kathleen Watkins Hanna Vasquez Ware, who departed from this world on October 22, 2026. Born on May 24, 1956, in Diamond Bar, California, Patricia's life was a tapestry of challenges and difficult choices.
Patricia was the beloved daughter of Reginald and Erna Watkins. She was predeceased by her father, Reginald Thurman Watkins, and her two daughters, Destiny and Katie Vasquez, who were stillborn. She is survived by her three children, Tricia Rivera, Emily McAbee, and Jon Hanna, as well as six grandchildren. Though she leaves behind no great-grandchildren, Patricia's legacy continues through her family.
Patricia's life journey brought her through various marriages, each marked by its own trials. She was married to her first husband, John, for 11 years, and later to Nick Vasquez and Marcus Ware. Each relationship contributed to the complex narrative of her life, influencing her choices and the paths she took.
In pursuit of education, Patricia returned to college, earning a degree in Child Education from Monmouth College. Her professional life included a tenure at a local waterpark in Redding, CA, where she was recognized for her great attendance—an acknowledgment of her dedication to her work.
Patricia was deeply involved with her church, a place she cherished and supported. Despite not achieving her dreams of becoming a worship leader, her commitment to her faith was unwavering, often prioritizing her church community.
Patricia's private funeral service was held on the date of her passing. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to organizations supporting survivors of abuse, as a way to foster healing and support for others.
As we close this chapter of Patricia's story, we are reminded of the complexities of human life and the capacity for redemption and change. May those who knew her find peace and healing in the days to come.
