In Loving Memory

Patricia Hope Meyers
February 28, 1941 — April 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia "Hope" Meyers on April 5, 2026, at the age of 85. Surrounded by love and in the comfort of her home, Hope departed this world after a brief battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of grace, kindness, and cherished memories.
Born on February 28, 1941, to Edward and Pat Hadfield, Hope was a beacon of light and warmth from the very beginning. Growing up alongside her beloved siblings, Elizabeth, Ed, and Scarlett, Hope's early years were filled with laughter, learning, and a love for family that she carried throughout her life. Predeceased by her parents, sister Elizabeth, brother Ed, and her beloved spouse Stan Dunlap, Hope's spirit remains a guiding force for those she leaves behind.
Hope's journey in life was marked by love and resilience. She was first married to Richard Meyers, with whom she welcomed three beautiful children: Cathy, Lynda, and Rich. Her children were her pride and joy, and she dedicated herself to their upbringing with unwavering devotion. Later, Hope found love again with Stan Dunlap, and together they built a life filled with joy, adventure, and mutual respect.
A woman of many talents, Hope initially ran a home daycare, where she became affectionately known as "Aunt Hope" to the many children she cared for. Her innate kindness and nurturing spirit touched countless lives. Hope later embarked on a successful career in real estate before retiring as a Dispatcher at SDGE, where her professionalism and grace were admired by colleagues and clients alike.
Hope's passions were as varied as they were heartfelt. She adored crocheting, found tranquility in her garden, and cherished every moment spent traveling and exploring new places. Her social circle, lovingly known as the “Golden Girls,” was a testament to her ability to forge deep and lasting friendships. Above all, Hope reveled in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passing down stories, wisdom, and love through the generations.
Hope's legacy is carried on by her sister Scarlett, her children Cathy, Lynda, and Rich, her seven grandchildren, and her eleven great-grandchildren. Each life she touched is a testament to her beauty, both inside and out, and her steadfast belief in the power of kindness and love.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at The Hacienda for the care and dignity they provided in Hope’s final days. Your support was a source of comfort and strength.
In honoring Hope's life, we invite those who knew and loved her to celebrate her enduring spirit and the memories she leaves with us. May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts, as we continue to be inspired by her legacy of love and kindness.
