Patricia Hood - McNeal, a cherished soul and a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully at her home in the comforting presence of her family after courageously battling cancer. Born on October 17, 1953, in Decatur, Illinois, Patricia's journey through life was marked by her compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to both her family and her faith. Patricia was the beloved daughter of Polly and Ivory Hood, who precede her in death, along with her brothers Johnny, Samuel, Sonny, Leroy, Robert, and Fredrick Wayne Hood, and her dear spouse, Willis McNeal. She is survived by her devoted spouse Willie McNeal, her loving daughter Tracy Stokes and son-in-law Lorenzo Stokes, her treasured granddaughter Shante Robertson, and her precious great-grandchild Peyton Robertson. Patricia is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Barbara, Susan, Ricky, Terry, Cordell, Kenneth, and Darnell, alongside sister-in-law Sylvia Hood. Patricia’s educational journey led her from Our Lady of Sorrow and St. Sienna High School to Ray Vogue College of Fashion Design, where she graduated in 1979. Her passion for fashion was just one facet of her vibrant life. A member of the Greater St. John Bible Church for 34 years under the guidance of Pastor Acree, Patricia served faithfully on the Missionary Board, embodying a life dedicated to service and faith. Known for her wit, intelligence, and humor, Patricia had a heart that reached out to those in need. Her love for her family was boundless, and she found joy in reading, dancing, sewing, and writing heartfelt prayers. A true student of God's word, the Bible was a constant source of inspiration and comfort for her. The family invites friends and loved ones to join in celebrating Patricia’s life on September 11, 2026, at Great St. John Bible Church, located at 1256 N. Waller, Chicago, IL 60651. The service will begin at 10:22 PM, a time set aside to honor the life of a woman whose love and light touched everyone she met. In memory of Patricia, and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to a charity of your choice. Patricia Hood - McNeal's legacy of love, faith, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
