Patricia Holter Grasso

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that, surrounded by family, Patricia Holter Grasso passed on June 8, 2026, at her Castro Valley home subsequent to a series of strokes. Born in Lock Haven, PA. Pat's life was a testament to kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved and the many she served throughout her remarkable 85 years. Pat married Harvey Davies Grasso in San Rafael, CA. with whom she shared 48 years of life filled with joy, mutual respect. A dedicated scholar, Patricia got her RN degree from Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA. and her BA from the New College of California in San Francisco, CA. Pat's professional life was one of selfless service; she dedicated herself to the field of nursing for over four decades, inspiring her two nieces to become nurses. Pat's deep faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devout Catholic she was an active participant in the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church community, as a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, church choir, Helping Hands, Wings, Emmaus and Aspiring Angels. Her faith led her to live a life of and service, always extending a hand to those in need. In her personal time, Pat's warmth and creativity shone brightly. She was an avid cook, her kitchen often filled with the comforting aromas of her Italian heritage. Patricia also found joy in gardening and nurturing her plants. Those who knew Pat will remember her for her caring and thoughtful nature, her boundless generosity, and her supportive spirit. Her infectious sense of humor brought light and laughter to every room she entered. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held in Patricia's honor at 11:00 AM on July 28, 2026 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, located at 3433 Somerset Ave, Castro Valley, CA. Those wishing to honor Pat’s memory are encouraged to make donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the March of Dimes, reflecting her lifelong commitment to the well-being of children and families.
