It is with deep sorrow and immense gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Patricia Griffin, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on June 17, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by her cherished loved ones. Patricia was born on April 10, 1948, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to the late Francis and Ellen Donovan, who instilled in her the values of kindness and generosity that defined her life. Patricia shared a beautiful life with her husband, Michael Griffin, whom she married on a Valentine's Day in Connecticut—a love story that spanned decades, filled with adventure, family, and countless cherished memories. Together, they explored the world, with trips to places like Maine, Africa, Ireland, and Italy, and shared a love for a warm cup of tea and the simple joys of life. Michael preceded her in death, but he remained forever in her heart. A dedicated and compassionate professional, Patricia spent many years working as an insurance adjuster for The Hartford, where her colleagues knew her as a diligent and caring presence until her retirement. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her career; Patricia was an active member of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), where she served as a liaison for families grieving the loss of their loved ones. Her empathy and dedication brought comfort to many during their times of need. Patricia's life was enriched by her close-knit family. She is survived by her loving sisters, Arlene (and Greg) Emmons, Lori Ercoli, Margaret (and Peter) Palumbo, Kate (and Jeff) Celadon, Ann Marie (and Anthony) DiLeone, and her brother-in-law, Gary Griffin. Though predeceased by her brother-in-law Robert Ercoli, Patricia's family continued to grow and thrive. She leaves behind four nieces, eight nephews, and a multitude of great-nieces and nephews, whom she adored and helped raise with boundless love and guidance. Her generous spirit was known by all who crossed her path. Patricia's joy in helping others was evident in the countless lives she touched, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire her family and friends. In honoring Patricia's wishes, a private funeral service will be held to celebrate her remarkable life. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Mid State Hospital for their compassionate care during Patricia's final days. In this time of reflection and remembrance, Patricia's family takes solace in the love and support of those around them. While her departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, the memories of her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will forever illuminate the hearts of all who knew her. As she journeys to her eternal rest, Patricia Griffin will be remembered with love, admiration, and enduring gratitude for the beautiful life she shared with us all.
