April 28, 1947 — February 24, 2026

With profound sadness yet with a celebration of a vibrant life well-lived, we announce the passing of Patricia Colantonio on February 24, 2026. Patricia left this world peacefully at the age of 78, in the loving embrace of family and friends, after facing a courageous battle with a stroke and pneumonia. Born on April 28, 1947, in Rockford, Illinois, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Marilyn and Eugene Knight, who instilled in her the values of kindness and acceptance—qualities she carried with her throughout her life. Patricia was the younger sister of William, who predeceased her, along with her beloved parents. Patricia was a woman who wore many hats and wore them all with a flair that was uniquely her own. Known for her goofy and wild spirit, she brightened every room she entered with her infectious humor and unmistakable zest for life. Her funny facial expressions and firecracker personality left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Her sarcasm was legendary, yet it was always laced with love and an underlying warmth that drew people to her. In a world that often demands conformity, Patricia stood out as a beacon of authenticity. She embraced everyone she met with open arms and a kind heart, making people feel valued and understood. Her acceptance of others knew no bounds, and she was a living testament to the power of love and compassion. Patricia's life was a tapestry woven with laughter and joy, a testament to a spirit that refused to be tamed. Her legacy is one of embracing life with open arms, a wild heart, and a generous spirit that touched countless lives. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. As we say goodbye to Patricia, we hold on to the laughter and love she gifted us. Though she has left this world, she lives on in the stories we share, the love we continue to spread, and the warmth we extend to others, just as she did. A private celebration of Patricia's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her name to a charity of your choice, spreading the kindness and acceptance that she so beautifully exemplified. Rest in peace, Patricia. You were a light in our lives, and your spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
