Patricia Ann Rader

February 20, 1945 — June 29, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Rader, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Patricia peacefully entered into God’s hands on June 29, 2026, surrounded by her cherished family, in the comfort of their love. Born on February 20, 1945, in Rock Camp, Ohio, Patricia was the daughter of Annabell Lee Norris. She was a proud graduate of South High School, Class of 1963, where her journey of touching lives began. Patricia dedicated 27 years of her life to Columbus City Schools as a teacher's aide, where her nurturing spirit and kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of countless students on the south side of Columbus. Patricia's unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of Lighthouse Church and the Southway Post 144 Women’s Auxiliary, she found great joy and purpose in her community, always striving to uplift others through her faith and actions. Patricia was predeceased by her mother, Annabell, her brothers Stanton W. Norris and Paul D. Norris, her sister Debbie Emrich, her son William Waco Gibson, daughter-in-law Lisa D. Gibson, granddaughter Elizabeth D. Gibson, and her lifelong friend Andrea Schumm, along with many dear aunts and uncles. She leaves behind a legacy of love and family, survived by her sons Ernest (Stacey) Rader and Joseph (Trisha) Rader, her grandchildren Jenna Gibson, Joshua (Sara) Rader, Taylor (Noah) Rader, and J. Mitchel (Hayden) Rader, and her great-grandchildren Joseph, Lincoln, Levi, Cal, Xander, James, Caroline, Frankie Jo, and Oden. Patricia cherished her siblings, sister Barbra Mullen and brothers Robert (Jackie) Willis, Michel (Patricia) Grey, and John (Sandra) Grey, along with many special nieces and nephews. A special message of gratitude is extended to her sister Barb Mullen and niece Billy Jo Grey for their unwavering support and care. Known for her fierce and unconditional love, especially for her sons, Patricia was a strong-willed and loving presence in the lives of all who knew her. Her porch swing on South Fifth Street was a sanctuary where family and friends gathered to share dreams, life’s challenges, and joys, creating a tapestry of memories that will forever be cherished. Patricia’s creativity shone brightly through the special gifts and cards she lovingly crafted for her children and grandchildren. Her love for God and her daily devotion to studying His word inspired those around her, providing comfort and guidance. As we remember Patricia, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a spirit that will continue to inspire us. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who journeyed before her.
