In Loving Memory

Patricia Ann Lay
October 23, 1967 — March 22, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia Ann Lay, who left us on March 22, 2026. Patricia was born on October 23, 1967, in the scenic town of Cortez, Colorado, a place that would greatly shape her love for nature and the outdoors.
Patricia, affectionately known to many as Patty, her smile and quick wit lighting up every room she entered. Her life was a testament to the love and resilience that she inherited from her parents, Clyde and Karen Lay, who predeceased her, along with her cherished sister, Wendy Lay. Her family roots were deep, nurtured by her loving parents and shared with her siblings, sisters Anna Hart, Carrie Lay, Melissa Cox, and Shelly Morgan, each holding a special place in her heart.
Patricia found her lifelong companion in Everett Duane Robinette, with whom she shared many adventures and built a family of their own. She was the proud and devoted mother of five sons: Darrell Robinette, Clayton Robinette, James Lay, Micheal Foster, and Joseph Foster. Her legacy of love and warmth continues through her sons and her eight treasured grandchildren, who will forever carry forward her spirit, curiosity, and love for life.
Known for her infectious curiosity, Patricia was an avid researcher, always eager to learn and share her ideas with anyone who would listen. Her passion for knowledge was matched only by her love for the great outdoors. She found solace in nature, spending countless hours camping, exploring, and breathing in the beauty of the world around her. Her love for reading was a gateway to new worlds, and she often lost herself in the pages of a good book.
Patricia's home was a haven not only for her family but also for her beloved dogs, who were as much a part of her family as any human. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, embracing her nieces, nephews, and extended family with open arms and an open heart.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Patricia's life, reflecting her peaceful nature and the intimate bonds she cherished with her family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to honor Patricia's memory consider spending time in nature, appreciating the beauty she so dearly loved, or perhaps picking up a book, immersing themselves in the stories she cherished.
Patricia Ann Lay's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unyielding spirit that touched the lives of everyone she met. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, a source of inspiration and comfort. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
