December 22, 1935 — March 21, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that the family of Patricia Ann Benz announces her peaceful passing on March 21, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on December 22, 1935, in the charming town of Holly Grove, Arkansas, Patricia lived a life imbued with grace, strength, and an unwavering devotion to her family and community. Patricia, daughter of the late Dratie and Mary Miller, was the cherished sister to Mary, Jimmy, D.A., Ruth, Gene, Gay, and Rodney, all of whom have preceded her in death, along with her beloved son, Raymond Charles Junior. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly seventy years, Raymond Charles, who stood by her side with love and care throughout their long and fulfilling marriage. They met at the University of Arkansas, where Patricia was a dedicated student, and they wed on May 30, 1956, embarking on a life journey full of love and partnership. Together, Patricia and Raymond raised three wonderful sons. She leaves behind her sons, Andrew Benz of Chicago, and John Benz, along with his wife Lisa, of Raleigh. Her legacy continues with her two adored grandchildren and five precious great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life and will carry her memory with them always. Patricia is also survived by her siblings, Frank, Peggy, and Charles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss her dearly. Patricia was a devoted member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church since 1960, where she found a spiritual home and a loving community. Her faith was a cornerstone in her life and guided her in raising her sons, who all attended the church’s elementary school. Patricia’s life was one of service and love, not only to her family but also to her community. A woman of remarkable intelligence and warmth, Patricia was known for her boundless love and radiant smile. Her gardens were a testament to her nurturing spirit, with vibrant flowers and lush vegetables that flourished under her care throughout the year at her home on Shelby and Chris Circle. Patricia's laughter was infectious, and her support and kindness were felt by all who knew her. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Michael Ford, her primary care physician, Dr. Joseph Beck, her oncologist, and Dr. Matthew Hardee, her radiation oncologist, along with their dedicated staffs, for their compassionate care during Patricia's courageous three-year battle with lung cancer. A special thank you is also extended to her son, Andrew Benz, who selflessly served as her full-time caregiver for over a decade, and to her cousins, Cindy Endsley and Cathy Kirkpatrick, who regularly visited her, lifting her spirits in her final months. A service to celebrate Patricia’s beautiful life will be held on March 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, located at 15 S Spruce St, Paris, AR 72855, United States. As we gather to honor her memory, we hold close the lessons she taught us through her love, strength, and unwavering faith. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Patricia's memory to St. Edward’s Catholic Church or a charity of your choice. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
