Patricia A Campbell

February 17, 1943 — July 17, 2026

It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Patricia A. Campbell on July 17, 2026. Patricia, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, left this world peacefully at home in the comforting embrace of her family, following a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. She was 83. Born on February 17, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Mildred Hartman. She was preceded in death by her mother, her grandparents Leo and Augusta Hartman, her grandson David Russell “Rusty” Harmon, and several beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles. Patricia's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and adventure. A proud graduate of Libby High School in Toledo, she possessed a zest for life and a passion for the outdoors. In her younger years, she could be found breaking and riding wild horses, a testament to her daring spirit and boundless energy. As she grew older, her love for nature manifested in her beautifully tended flower beds and bountiful vegetable garden, where she labored tirelessly until the stars appeared in the night sky. Her love for Lake Erie and its serene beauty was matched only by her enthusiasm for fishing its waters. An avid bingo player, Patricia often returned from games with not only winnings but also newfound friends. Her heart was as open as her home; she delighted in entertaining and cooking for her loved ones, often declaring with a smile, "If you leave here hungry, that's your fault." Her door was always open, the aroma of a home-cooked meal wafting through the air, and the coffee pot perpetually brewing. Patricia had an unyielding compassion for animals of all kinds. Whether it was a squirrel, raccoon, or a stray dog she encountered on her way home from bingo, Patricia would bring it into her care, nurse it back to health, and find it a loving home. Patricia leaves behind a family who adored her: her devoted husband of 56 years, Russell Campbell of Bradner, Ohio; her daughters, Kristine Harmon-Bradner Ohio, Kimberly Rickard-Delaware Ohio and Ruschele Abbruzzese-Powell Ohio. Her grandchildren, Tabetha Harmon, and great-grandson Ryder Harmon-Bloomdale Ohio, Adam Rickard and his wife Jessica, with their sons Chance and Roman Rickard-Powell Ohio, Abbie Rickard-Nashville, Tennessee, and Gianna Abbruzzese-Powell, Ohio. A celebration of Patricia's life will take place at Barndt Funeral Home, located at 121 W South St, Wayne, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Patricia's memory to the Wood County Humane Society in Bowling Green, OH, reflecting her lifelong love for animals. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Heartland Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during Patricia's final days. Their kindness and support have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who loved her. As we remember Patricia, we celebrate a life lived with passion, grace, and unwavering love. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light, illuminating the paths of all who had the privilege to know her.
