Patric Henry Seabolt
November 21, 1939 — January 23, 2026
Patric Henry Seabolt of Hampton, VA, earned his eternal rest on Friday, 1/23/2026 at the age of 86 following complications of a stroke. He was born 11/21/1939 in Carl, WV. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Curl Seabolt of Fenwick Mountain, WV, mother, Ludella May Amick Seabolt of Leivasy, WV and sister Verdia Suzan Seabolt Haley of Newport News, VA.
He is survived by his wife of over 61 years Dorothy Ann Amick Seabolt, daughters Lesa Chiles (Andrew), and Melissa Seabolt, all of Hampton, VA; three grandchildren, Ryan Chiles of Hopewell, VA, Sarah Reed (Aaron) of Hope Mills, NC, Joshua Chiles (Elora) of Hampton, VA, and three great-grandchildren Sidney Reed, Madison Reed, and Carson Reed. He is also survived by his siblings Lyda Pauley of St. Albans, WV, Tommie Seabolt of Hot Springs, VA, Nelson Seabolt (Delora) of Hampton, VA, Margaret Spooner of Hominy Falls, WV, and Jennings Seabolt of Jefferson City, TN, as well as many special nieces and nephews.
Pat served in the USAF, worked at the Newport News Shipyard, attended the NASA Apprentice School, and worked at NASA Langley where he retired after 30 years. He was an avid gardener and loved growing all kinds of fruits and vegetables, but none more prized than his tomatoes. He loved food, cooking, baking, and sharing his recipes with family, friends, and neighbors. His health declined over the last few years, but with the help of Sentara Home Health and Affinity Hospice, he was able to spend his time at home among his family.
The family wishes to thank Affinity Hospice for the care they provided both Pat and the family over the past few years, especially his aide Doretta, and nurse Susie.
A memorial service is planned for 2pm on April 3, 2026 at Providence Free Will Baptist Church 731 E Little Back River Rd, Hampton, VA 23669. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Pat’s memory be sent to Mary Sue and Peggy Lou’s Cancer Crusaders PO Box 136 Nettie, WV 26681, or pay it forward by treating a friend or stranger to lunch
