Pat was a beacon of kindness and joy, known for her radiant smile that could light up any room. Her helpful nature and unwavering support for friends and family were hallmarks of her character. She carried these qualities into her career, where she spent 30+ years, earning the admiration and respect of her colleagues and community. On December 12, 1982, Pat married her beloved husband, Jimmy Helms, forging a bond that endured for over five decades. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter. Pat's role as a nurturing mother extended into a joyful grandmotherhood, where she cherished every moment. Though Pat has been preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son, David and grandson Jimmy, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jimmy Helms, her loving daughter Kathy Cregg, and her sister Nancy who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Pat was passionate about gardening and painting, often finding solace and joy in the beauty of nature and her artistic creations. An active member of her community, she lent her time and talents to various organizations, always eager to contribute to the well-being of others. A celebration of Pat's life will be held on June 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived, sharing stories and memories of the remarkable woman who touched so many lives. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Orange Park Hospital and Riverside Post Acute Care, as well as friends and neighbors who provided exceptional care and support during Pat's final days. Your kindness and compassion have been a source of comfort during this difficult time.
