Born on March 3, 1946, in Downers Grove, Pat was a beacon of kindness and laughter whose presence enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. Pat was the cherished child of Harold Vice and Mary Weber. He was predeceased by his loving wife, June Vice, whom he married on July 14, 1978. Together, they built a life filled with love and joy, nurturing their family with unwavering devotion. Pat is survived by his two beloved children, Clarence Vice and Randy Taff, who carry forward his legacy of love and strength. He was also a proud grandfather to Maria and David, and a doting great-grandfather to three precious great-grandchildren. With a remarkable career as a mechanical engineer spanning 35 years, Pat retired in 2005, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and mentorship. He was revered not just for his technical acumen but for his dedication to guiding young engineers, instilling in them a sense of passion and commitment to their craft. Beyond his professional life, Pat was a man of simple joys. He found immense pleasure in the company of his family and the tranquility of his garden. Whether tending to delicate blooms or sharing a hearty laugh with loved ones, his warmth and kindness shone brightly, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. In keeping with Pat's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. Those who wish to honor his memory are encouraged to make donations to a charity of their choice, reflecting Pat's generous spirit and lifelong belief in the importance of giving back. Pat Vice's legacy is one of love, laughter, and kindness. Though he will be profoundly missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
