September 17, 1959 — September 22, 2026

Pandora Smith, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on September 17, 1959, in Charlotte, NC, Pandora was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. Pandora was the cherished daughter of the late Mattie Bloomfield and James Adams and was deeply loved by her stepfather, Alan Bloomfield. Her life was enriched by her siblings Tammy Jones (Joe), Lanna Bloomfield, Shaniece Bloomfield, Antia Bloomfield, and Lorna Tracy, who were by her side throughout her journey. Her heart belonged to her children, Pierre Bloomfield (Nuke), Chika Bloomfield, Whitli Melton (Jacqorey), and Elizabeth Smith (Durell), as well as her treasured daughter-in-law, Sephora. Pandora's legacy continues in the lives of her family and countless others she touched with her warmth and kindness. Preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Bloomfield; her mother, Mattie Bloomfield; her father, James Adams; her sister, Felicia Oughton; her grandmother, Amanda Kirkpatrick; her grandfather, Elijah Kirkpatrick; and her stepmother, Pat Adams, Pandora is now reunited with those she dearly missed. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as visiting arcades and casinos, savoring meals at various restaurants, and sharing laughter with family and friends. Pandora had an amazing ability to treasure each moment and make those around her feel special and valued. Pandora dedicated many years of her professional life to the CATS Special Transportation Department before joining the United States Postal Service (USPS), where she worked until her health no longer allowed it. Her commitment and dedication were evident in every role she took on, and she was admired by colleagues and friends alike. A celebration of Pandora's life will be held on October 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at A.E. Grier & Sons Funeral Home, located at 2310 Statesville Ave, Charlotte, NC 28206. Her family invites all who knew her to join in honoring a life well-lived and to share in the memories she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Pandora's memory. Her generosity and spirit will live on through the good works inspired by her life. Pandora's love and memories will continue to be shared from one generation to the next.
