Pamela Nuveman

April 13, 1955 — March 29, 2026

In the quiet and gentle embrace of the early morning on March 29, 2026, Pamela Nuveman departed from this world peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on April 13, 1955, in Owosso, Michigan, Pam was a beacon of love, kindness, and compassion, whose light touched countless lives. Pam was the beloved daughter of Jack Ellis Striggow and the late Carole Gay (Davis) Striggow. Her roots were nurtured in the small town of Owosso, where she developed a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life, a legacy she carried with her throughout her days. Her grandparents, Leo and Dorothy (Graham) Striggow, and Floyd and Gaytha Davis, predeceased her, as well as her cousin Jill (Striggow) Batteen, who remained cherished in her heart. A proud graduate of Corunna High School, class of 1973, Pam's early years were marked by her involvement in 4-H, where she fondly showed her trusty horse, Pepper. After school, she ventured into the world of work, starting with General Telephone and Toledo Commutator. It was, however, at the Secretary of State where Pam found her calling, devoting herself to countless individuals with grace and patience until her retirement in January 2020. In 1975, Pam united in marriage with Edwin Nuveman, a partnership filled with love and mutual respect. Sadly, Ed preceded her in death in January 2023. Together, they shared a love for travel, preferring the scenic back roads to bustling highways, finding beauty in the journey itself. Their adventures often took them to the serene shores of Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Superior, where Pam, her sister Patricia, and their mother spent blissful hours seeking beach glass and unique stones. Pam's gentle spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she dedicated herself to rescuing and caring for abandoned cats. Her home became a sanctuary for those too feral to be adopted, and under her loving care, they found peace and safety. Her brother, Randall (Roxanne) Striggow, sister Patricia Striggow, and her father, Jack Striggow, survive her, each carrying forward her legacy of kindness. Pam's warmth and generosity were not confined to her family alone; they were the hallmark of her interactions with friends, coworkers, and the many patrons she assisted during her career. Known for her calm demeanor and caring nature, Pam left an indelible mark on everyone she met. In honoring Pam's life, her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Haven of Rest of Shiawassee County and Memorial Hospital Hospice for their compassionate care during her final days. They also wish to thank all those who kept Pam in their thoughts and prayers. A private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate Pam's life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Haven of Rest of Shiawassee County or the Shiawassee Humane Society, as these causes were close to Pam's heart. Pamela Nuveman's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and a gentle spirit. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her, reminding us to seek beauty in the world around us and to extend compassion to all creatures.
