Pamela Lynne Dodson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on December 18, 1963, in Kansas City, Kansas, Pamela was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who were fortunate to know her. Pamela was the daughter of the late Keith and Norma Dodson. She grew up in a household filled with love and laughter alongside her siblings. Her brother David preceded her in death, but she is survived by her devoted brother Gary Dodson and his wife Linda of Olathe, Kansas, as well as her caring sister Cindy Whitson and her husband Ed of Kansas City, Kansas. The bonds she shared with her siblings were a testament to the enduring closeness of family. In 1997, Pamela married her soulmate, Richard Scott Johnston, with whom she shared a beautiful journey until his passing. Their love was an inspiring example of devotion and companionship. Together, they created a family filled with love, guiding their children with warmth and unwavering support. Pamela is survived by her two loving children, Robert Lee Norman, Jr and his fiancé Danielle of Wilber, Nebraska, and her daughter Jessica LeAnne Burge and her husband JR of Atchison, Kansas. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Felicity, Jaden, Haley and Colby, who brought immense happiness and fulfillment to her life. Though Pamela endured the heartache of losing her husband Richard, her parents, her brother David, and her son Brian, her resilience and grace remained a guiding light for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength. Pamela's life was rich with simple pleasures. She found joy in tending to her landscaping and rose bushes. She also enjoyed spending time with long time friend, Bob. Her laughter was infectious, and her hugs were a source of comfort and reassurance to all who knew her. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Kansas City Palliative Care and NorthCare Hospice House for their support and care during Pamela's final days. Their kindness and dedication provided solace to Pamela and her family. In honor of Pamela's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her life and legacy. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity close to Pamela's heart, in remembrance of her generous spirit and unwavering compassion.
