It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful passing of Pamela G. Nuveman on March 26, 2026, in the comforting presence of her cherished family. Born on April 13, 1955, in the quaint town of Owosso, Michigan, Pam was a beacon of kindness and compassion throughout her life.
The beloved daughter of Jack E. and Carole G. (Davis) Striggow, Pam was predeceased by her devoted husband, Edwin R. Nuveman, her dear mother, Carole, and her cherished grandparents, Leo and Dorothy (Graham) Striggow and Floyd and Gaytha (Rowley) Davis. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her surviving family: her father, Jack Striggow; brother Randy (Roxanne) Striggow; sister Patricia Striggow; family friend James Harr; brothers-in-law Tom (Susan) Nuveman, Jim (Kayann) Nuveman, and Chuck (Linda); and a host of beloved nephews, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pam's life was a tapestry of love, woven intricately with the threads of family, friendship, and faith. A proud graduate of Corunna High School in 1973, she cherished the lifelong friendships she cultivated there, relishing summer boating adventures and festive Christmas gatherings.
In 1995, Pam married her soulmate, Edwin R. Nuveman. Together, they found joy in life's simple pleasures, like their cherished drives down country roads in their jeep and tranquil retreats to Indian River, where they shared countless moments of joy and laughter.
Pam's professional journey was marked by her dedication to service. She worked briefly at General Telephone and Toledo Commutator before embarking on a fulfilling career with the Secretary of State. Her 30-year tenure, ending with her retirement in 2020, was distinguished by her empathy and respect for everyone she served.
A lifelong lover of nature and animals, Pam was a devoted Girl Scout and a proud member of 4-H, where she treasured her time with her Palomino horse, Pepper. Her love for animals extended into her personal life, as she cared for countless cats, providing them with medical attention and loving homes. Her own 'house kitties,' Momma's Boy, Gibbs, Lucy, and Goldie, were her constant companions and a source of immense comfort.
Pam's love for the Lord guided her life. She found solace in studying the Bible and writing daily devotions, a testament to her deep and abiding faith. Her summers were often spent with her mother and sister, Patty, joyfully searching for beach glass and stones along the Lake Michigan shores and visiting Mackinac Island during the Lilac Festival.
In her youth, Pam delighted in the adventures of farm life with her cousins, as they caught tadpoles, played in the hayloft, and embraced the simple joys of childhood. Her compassionate spirit was evident in every aspect of her life, from her commitment to saving animals to her unwavering love for her family.
A celebration of Pam's life will be held at a later time, where her warmth and generosity will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Haven of Rest of Shiawassee County or the Shiawassee Humane Society, organizations close to Pam's heart.
Pam's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Haven of Rest of Shiawassee County and Memorial Hospital Hospice for their tender care during her final days. They also express deep appreciation to all who held Pam in their thoughts and prayers, offering comfort and strength during this time of loss.
