Pamela G. Nuveman

April 13, 1955 — March 26, 2026

Pamela G. Nuveman, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on April 13, 1955, in Owosso, Michigan, Pam was the cherished daughter of Jack E. and Carole G. (Davis) Striggow. Her journey through life was marked by compassion, kindness, and an unwavering love for both people and animals. Pamela spent her formative years in Owosso, where she nurtured many friendships that began during her schooling at Corunna High School, from which she graduated in 1973. Her high school years were filled with camaraderie and adventure, including her time as a dedicated Girl Scout and a member of 4-H, where she shared her days with her beautiful Palomino horse, Pepper. In 1995, Pamela began a new chapter of her life with her marriage to her true love, Edwin R. Nuveman. Together, they cherished their time exploring country roads in their jeep and enjoying the serene beauty of Indian River. Pam and 'Edwin R.' shared a bond that was as enduring as it was deep, a testament to their mutual love and respect. Pam's professional life was marked by a genuine dedication to service. After brief stints at General Telephone and Toledo Commutator, she found her calling with the Secretary of State. Over her 30-year career, she became known for her warmth and graciousness, treating every customer with dignity and respect before retiring in 2020. Pam found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She, along with her mother and sister Patty, would often embark on adventures searching for beach glass and unique stones along the shores of Michigan’s great lakes, and cherished their travels to Mackinac Island during the Lilac Festival. Her summers were spent at Indian River, surrounded by family and friends, basking in the warmth of their company. Her love for animals, especially cats, was a defining feature of her life. Pam dedicated herself to rescuing and caring for the cats that found their way to her property. Her 'house kitties'—Momma's Boy, Gibbs, Lucy, and Goldie—were a constant source of joy and comfort, often finding their place on her lap all at once. Pamela is survived by her father, Jack Striggow; her brother, Randy (Roxanne) Striggow; her sister, Patricia Striggow; and family friend, James Harr. She is also fondly remembered by her brothers-in-law, Tom (Susan) Nuveman, Jim (Kayann) Nuveman, and Chuck (Linda); and her beloved nephews and nieces, Dirk (Sarah) Striggow, Jason, Jennifer & Bill, Jared & Angie, Justin & Ploy, Ryan & Elita, Stacey & Mark, and Gail & Jon, along with numerous great-nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Edwin R. Nuveman, and her mother, Carole G. Striggow. A celebration of Pamela’s life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Haven of Rest of Shiawassee County or the Shiawassee Humane Society in her honor. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Haven of Rest of Shiawassee County and Memorial Hospital Hospice for their compassionate care during Pamela’s final days. They also wish to thank everyone who kept Pam in their thoughts and prayers. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
