Pamela A. Scott, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this life on April 20, 2026, at the age of 67, after courageously battling a long illness. Pamela was born on May 7, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, to the loving parents, Rhetta and Ulysses Scott II. Her journey was one of love, dedication, and cherished memories, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Pamela grew up in a bustling household in Chicago, a city that played a significant role in shaping her vibrant personality. She was the cherished sister to Belinda, Brenda, Veronica, and Dwight, and is now reunited in eternal peace with her predeceased parents, Rhetta and Ulysses Scott II, and her brothers, Ulysses Scott III and Donta Scott. Her husband, Richard White, whom she shared over 40 loving years with, also predeceased her. Pamela’s academic journey began at Simeon High School, where she graduated in 1976. With a thirst for knowledge and a dedication to her future, she pursued further education at Triton College in River Grove, Illinois. Her professional life was spent as a dedicated clerk and supervisor at the United States Postal Service, where she worked tirelessly for 35 years until her retirement in 2009. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of positivity and a source of inspiration. Though her career was important, Pamela’s true passion lay in her family. She and Richard raised their two children, Johnquice and Shaisquita, in their family home in Bellwood, Illinois. Pamela’s nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, Arianna and Amir, whom she adored and spoiled at every opportunity. Family events were her delight, where her innocent smile and jolly laugh would light up the room as she recounted tales of the good old days. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of home-cooked meals, a testament to her love for her family. Pamela leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Her surviving family members include her children, Johnquice and Shaisquita, her precious grandchildren, Arianna and Amir, her devoted siblings, Belinda, Brenda, Veronica, and Dwight, and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and countless family friends who loved her dearly. A celebration of Pamela’s life will take place on April 29, 2026, at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church, located at 20 N Ashland Ave, LaGrange, IL 60525. Family and friends will gather to honor her life, share stories, and remember the joy she brought into their lives. Pamela A. Scott’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, family, and resilience. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the precious memories she gifted us, knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who love her.
