It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Pam Maples, who departed this life on May 9, 2026. Pam was born on February 6, 1965, in Orlando, Florida, to Roy and Barbara Maples, who remain by her side as her devoted parents.
Pam’s life was a tapestry of adventure, and care, woven with the threads of her dedication to family and friends. She was known for her unwavering presence and fierce devotion to those she loved. From her earliest days at Altamonte Christian and Lyman High School in Florida, Pam exhibited a zest for life and a boundless curiosity that propelled her forward.
Choosing a path of empathy and service, Pam became a Licensed Practical Nurse, where she found her true calling in caring for others.
Pam's love for travel was legendary among those who knew her. With a heart as expansive as the open road, she would often embark on spontaneous journeys, visiting loved ones across states, creating memories that would be cherished for a lifetime. Her children fondly recall the joy of gathering around to listen to her sing her favorite country songs, her voice a comforting melody that will forever echo in their hearts.
Pam's family was her greatest pride and joy. She is survived by her beloved children: Brandis Hand, Chad Hand, Megan Hand, and Chelsea Watson. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Paxton Hand, Jolana Wood, Camellia Wood, Brantley Schomaker, Roy Schomaker, Oliver Schomaker, and Mackenzie Watson who brought endless joy and laughter into her life.
Pam's circle of love extended to her sisters, Christine Jones, and Becky(Tony) Marshall, as well as neices and nephews Jason Marshall, Josh Marshall, Adam Howard, Natalie Howard, Stephanie Jones. Her cherished memory will also live on through her dear friends and extended family.
Preceding Pam in death are her beloved family members: Lee and Adean Ollice, Jimmy Ollice, Bruce Maples, Helen Schumacher, Tim Jones, Tyler Marshall, and Christopher Davis.
In her final hours, Pam was cared for by the compassionate staff of HCA North Florida Hospital, to whom the family extends their deepest gratitude for their kindness and dedication.
As we bid farewell to Pam, let us remember her as she was—a vibrant soul with an adventurous spirit. May her journey continue in the heavens, where she rides freely upon the clouds, forever surrounded by the love she deeply searched for.
A celebration of Pam's life will be held at a later date, where stories will be shared, songs will be sung, and her incredible journey will be honored. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pam's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her life of service and love.
Pam, you will always be in our hearts, a guiding star lighting our way until we meet again.
