Pam Fritz

September 19, 1955 — May 10, 2026

Pam Fritz, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on May 10, 2026, at the age of 70. Born in Elkhart, Indiana, on September 19, 1955, Pam was the cherished daughter of Ron and Pat Ganger. Her departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire. Pam grew up in a family filled with love and laughter, alongside her sisters Rhonda, Norine, Julie, and Lynn. She met her soulmate, Bruce Fritz, in high school, and the two were married on September 27, 1975, in Dowagiac, Michigan. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, as they celebrated 50 years together, a milestone that serves as a beacon of commitment for all who knew them. Pam and Bruce were blessed with a son, Reggie, who, along with his wife Mandy, gave Pam her greatest joy, her grandson Jack. Known affectionately as "Gamma," Pam adored spending time with Jack, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Pam dedicated over 25 years of her professional life as a medical transcriptionist, serving at Lee Memorial Hospital, Berrien Center General Hospital, and Cass County Medical Care facility. Her work was more than a career; it was an extension of her caring nature and commitment to helping others. A devout Catholic, Pam was an active member of the Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, where her faith was a guiding light in her life. Her church community was like a second family, and she found great joy in attending mass and participating in church activities. Pam's life was filled with simple joys that brought her immense happiness. Whether she was cheering on the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame, solving crossword puzzles, enjoying boat rides in the summer, or playing cards and spinners, Pam's vibrant personality shone through. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together, whether at family gatherings, trivia nights with friends, or around the campfire at their cabin up north. Her outgoing personality, infectious laughter, and warm heart were matched by her thoughtfulness and generosity. Pam was known for putting the needs of others before her own, a testament to her selfless spirit and caring heart. Pam is survived by her loving husband Bruce; her son Reggie and daughter-in-law Mandy; her adored grandson Jack; her parents Ron and Pat Ganger; her sisters Rhonda (Ed) de Varona, Norine Anderson, Julie (Dave) Cook, and Lynn (David) Cooler; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her niece, Ally Foster, whose memory she treasured. A service to celebrate Pam's life will be held on June 5, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, located at 210 North Front Street, Dowagiac, MI 49047. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Pam's memory to Holy Maternity of Mary Church, a community that meant so much to her. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and hospice staff who provided compassionate care and support to Pam during her final days. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were privileged to know her.
