Pablo Viscarra

March 20, 1943 — October 22, 2026

Pablo Viscarra, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, peacefully passed away at home on October 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 20, 1943, in Durango, Mexico, Pablo's life was a testament to strength, love, and dedication. Pablo was the cherished son of Maria Del Rosario and Cruz Viscarra, who, along with his siblings Ascencion Viscarra, Anita Fernandez, and Jose Angel Viscarra, predeceased him. Though he has now joined them in eternal rest, his legacy continues through those he leaves behind. In 1969, Pablo married the love of his life, Celia Avitua, in Chicago. Their union, spanning 57 beautiful years, was filled with warmth and laughter, and together, they raised three wonderful children: Rosi, Arturo, and Luis. The joy of his life was amplified by his six beloved grandchildren—Anthony, Sofia, Alaina, Alyssa, Liana, and Gabrielle—each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. Pablo’s career was marked by a dedicated tenure at Safety-Kleen, where he worked as a lead for 38 years before retiring in 2006. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his devotion to his family, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. Residing in the Andersonville neighborhood, Pablo found simple pleasures in taking walks with Celia, appreciating the beauty of the world around them. His gentle nature and love for life were evident to all who knew him. Pablo is survived by his loving wife, Celia; his children, Rosi, Arturo, and Luis; his grandchildren, Anthony, Sofia, Alaina, Alyssa, Liana, and Gabrielle; and his siblings Rosa, Josefa, Luisa, Guadalupe, and Manuel. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his siblings for their unwavering love and support during his final weeks, which brought him peace and comfort. In honoring Pablo’s memory, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting the spirit of generosity and kindness that defined his life. Pablo Viscarra will be remembered for his unwavering love, his steadfast strength, and the joy he brought into the lives of all who knew him. His memory will forever be a blessing.
