Born on April 24, 1953, in the vibrant town of Lucea Hanover, Owen was a cherished son of the late Thomas and Adassa Fletcher. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
Owen’s journey through life was marked by hard work, humor, and an unwavering dedication to his family and community. He was a man of many talents, having forged a career that spanned multiple fields. As a master welder, skilled taxi driver, and enterprising small business owner, Owen embodied the spirit of ingenuity and perseverance. His contributions to his community were as varied as they were impactful, and he was admired for his ability to turn a simple idea into a meaningful reality.
At the heart of Owen’s life was his beloved wife, Annette Fletcher, with whom he shared a bond that was both deep and enduring. Their love was a testament to the beauty of partnership, built on mutual respect, support, and a shared journey. Owen was a devoted father to Ricardo Fletcher, Zorane Fletcher, Julian Fletcher, Dianne Fletcher, and Rowena Fletcher. He was also a cherished grandfather to ten grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to one, all of whom brought him immense joy and fulfillment.
Predeceased by his brothers John, Hughy, Felony Vernon, and William, Owen shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings. Their shared memories and experiences were a source of strength and connection throughout his life.
A man of simple pleasures, Owen loved nothing more than immersing himself in the action and adventure of karate movies or reveling in the rhythms that played on his cherished sound system, Ark Angel. These pastimes brought him great joy and a sense of peace, allowing him moments of relaxation amidst a life of service and dedication.
Owen was known for his vibrant personality and infectious humor. With phrases that became iconic to those who knew him, such as "Kiss mi granny hiary" and "Hush your ass," he could fill any room with laughter and warmth.
