Otis Young

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Otis Young, a cherished soul who touched the lives of many. Otis was born on May 4, 1972, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois. He left us all too soon on October 10, 2026, at the age of 54, surrounded by the comfort of his home and the love of his family. Otis was the beloved child of John and Mary Young, who instilled in him the values of kindness, compassion, and resilience. He was predeceased by his dear Auntie Lauren, with whom he shared countless fond memories. A devoted family man, Otis was blessed with a loving family, including five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. His legacy lives on in them, as he passed down his wisdom, warmth, and humor to the younger generations. Otis’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service on October 12, 2026, at 9:00 AM. The service will be held at St. Mary Church, located at 305 W 51st St, Chicago, Illinois. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Otis are invited to gather and honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Otis’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization that held a special place in his heart. Contributions will support their ongoing mission to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases. Otis Young was a beacon of love and strength, and his presence will be deeply missed. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and an unwavering dedication to family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and an indelible mark on those who were fortunate to know him. May Otis rest in eternal peace, his spirit forever soaring in the hearts of those who loved him.
