Ora Bell Miller

Ora Bell Miller, a cherished matriarch and passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at Saint Luke's Hospice House. Born on February 21, 1929, in Cedartown, Georgia, Ora was the daughter of Willie Thomas and Mattie Lois Bradley. She was the 2nd child of 4. Preceded in death her parents Willie J and Mattie L Bradley, her brothers Willie T Bradley & Gary L Goode, her sister Airleen Hargrove, husband Eddie B Miller, Sr., her daughters Gail M Howell, Twyler D Rogers, Myrtice A Anderson, and her grandchildren Desiree' L Miller and Kevin T Miller. Ora's life was a testament to resilience and strength. She left school after the eighth grade to support her family, embodying a spirit of selflessness and determination that would define her life. She took on many roles throughout her career, working as a housekeeper, seamstress, and drapery maker, and even served as a part-time bus monitor. Her professional life reflected her commitment to hard work and her meticulous attention to detail. In 1947, Ora married Eddie B. Miller, Sr., with whom she shared a beautiful and adventurous life until his passing. Together, they raised a family that became the center of her world. She is survived by her son, Eddie B. Miller, Jr., of Twentynine Palms, California, and an expansive family tree that includes 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Ora was predeceased by several beloved family members, including her parents and siblings. Ora was a dedicated member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ for over 30 years, where her faith and compassion left a lasting impact. She was known for her love of travel, often embarking on journeys with her family to places like the Bahamas, Philadelphia, and New York. Her culinary skills, love of sewing and crocheting, and passion for gardening were cherished by all who knew her. She was the heart of her family, a source of unconditional love and unwavering support. Ora taught her family the importance of pride, respect, and showing up for one another, no matter the circumstances. Her wisdom was a guiding light, her laughter a cherished memory, and her presence a comfort to all who were fortunate to know her. Ora's life will be celebrated at a service on August 22, 2026, at 12:30 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, located at 1101 East Bannister Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Ora's honor.
