He proudly served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1974, a testament to his enduring spirit and unwavering patriotism. His years in service reflected a deep sense of duty and honor, values that he carried with him throughout his life. In 1972, Omar found the love of his life, marrying Stephanie Lakes. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter, nurturing a family that would come to be their greatest legacy. Omar was the proud father of three children: Tiffany, Omar Jr., and Joya. Their lives, alongside those of his seven cherished grandchildren—Janay, Jaydah, Jakera, Michael, Christopher, and Dominique—were a source of immense pride and joy for him. Additionally, Omar was blessed with two great-grandchildren, who brought him endless delight and completed the circle of love that surrounded him. Predeceased by his beloved brothers, Frederick, Tony, and Irvin, Omar held their memories close, cherishing the bonds they shared.
