In Loving Memory of Jane "Mom" Simons With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jane "Mom" Simons, who departed this world on July 9, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on November 9, 1949, in Angola, Indiana, Jane was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, following a courageous battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and the complications that followed. Jane was the cherished daughter of the late Ezra Lechleidner and Agnes and was preceded in death by her brother Don, sister Diane, son Jim Lechleidner , stepdaughter Denise Simons, and grandson Trent Lechleidner. Her legacy of love and kindness continues through her surviving family: her devoted husband of 43 years, Dennis Simons; her brother Harvey Lechleidner; her son Joe and his wife Missy Wooten; her daughter Melissa and her husband Lonnie Westerman; and her stepson Curtis Simons. Jane was also a beloved grandmother to ten grandchildren, a great-grandmother to nineteen, all of whom she adored. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Jane and Dennis's marriage in March 1991 marked the beginning of a beautiful journey, one filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams of a future together. Though their time was shorter than hoped, their bond was a testament to their deep love for one another and their family. Professionally, Jane dedicated her life to caring for others as a hospice nurse's aide. Her compassion extended beyond her career, as she continued to serve her community through volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and a local thrift store, both found through her church. Her commitment to helping others was a reflection of her devout faith and her role as a true servant of the Lord. Jane's life was enriched by simple pleasures. She had a passion for crafts and found solace in reading. These hobbies were a testament to her creativity and her love for learning. Her generous spirit, kindness, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on everyone she met. A private Celebration of Life will be held June 12, 2027 to honor Jane's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jane's memory to an organization that embodies her spirit of giving and compassion. Though Jane has left this earthly realm, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will continue to inspire acts of kindness and love, just as she lived her life. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave.

God’s Garden

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
