Olivia G. Muro
April 14, 1950 – April 25, 2026
It is with heavy yet grateful hearts that we celebrate the life of Olivia G. Muro, a beloved matriarch, cherished friend, and guiding light to all who knew her. Olivia passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, in the loving embrace of her family at her home, after a courageous battle with liver cancer and having triumphed over a debilitating stroke twelve years prior. Her legacy of resilience and love continues to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her presence.
Born on April 14, 1950, in Nordheim, Texas, Olivia was the cherished daughter of Lupe and Andrea Godines, who predeceased her. She was joyfully welcomed into the world, quickly becoming a beacon of warmth and laughter. Olivia’s journey through life was rich with love and marked by her unwavering devotion to family and friends.
Olivia was happily married to her beloved husband, Luis Muro, with whom she shared a profound and enduring love until his passing. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, including their treasured children. Though predeceased by her son David and son-in-law Joe Frausto Jr., Olivia’s love lives on through her daughter, Cyndy Frausto, her cherished grandchildren Andrea Frausto (Danika), Joshua Frausto (Grace), Beatriz Muro-Uresti, Tommy Uresti III, and Amanda Robles. Her legacy extends further to her great-grandchildren, David Luis Frausto, Mariella Frausto, and a much-anticipated third great-grandchild, whom Olivia predicted would be a girl.
Olivia's life was a tapestry of dedication and service. She wore many hats in her career, from working at Data Point to serving at the post office on base. However, her most profound role was as a caregiver to her son, who was a quadriplegic, exemplifying her boundless love and resilience. Her compassionate spirit found expression in numerous community involvements, including her dedicated membership at the Immaculate Conception Church, where she participated in every fish fry and bingo game. Olivia was also a cherished member of the Moose Lodge, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and orchestrated numerous bunco clubs, bingo, and loteria events, creating joyful moments and cherished memories.
A woman of many talents, Olivia was the epitome of the perfect grandmother, always ready to create magic with a homemade pizza or a lovingly sewn Halloween costume. Her love for adventure led her family on countless road trips, maps in hand, exploring the beauty of the country. Her beautiful voice, a source of joy to all who heard it, was silenced after her stroke, but in its absence, her spirit spoke volumes. Olivia’s eyes, forever expressive and loving, continued to communicate her unwavering love and wisdom.
Olivia's life will be celebrated on June 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Merida. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who come to honor Olivia’s life and legacy. A small gathering will follow at her home, where stories will be shared, laughter will resound, and her spirit will be felt in every corner.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you carry forward Olivia’s legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. Your presence, support, and shared memories are the greatest tribute to a life well-lived and a woman deeply loved.
