Olga Salazar, a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, at Doctors Hospital in Edinburg, TX, surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old.
Born on August 13, 1948, in Mission, TX, Olga was the daughter of the late Deacon Ismael Garcia, Sr. and Francisca Garcia. Olga is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Oralia Jimenez, Ismael Garcia II, Nacario Garcia, Irma Perez, and Jose Nieves Garcia.
On November 18, 1972, Olga married, Adalberto Salazar, in her hometown of Mission, TX. For 53 wonderful years, together, they raised three remarkable children: Veronica Vela, Albert Salazar, and Venessa Garza, who became the pride and joy of Olga's life.
Olga's legacy of love and kindness extended beyond her immediate family to her seven adored grandchildren, who brought endless joy and happiness into her life; sharing stories, wisdom, and her unwavering affection with each of them.
A woman of deep faith, Olga was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church. Her life was a testament to her beliefs, filled with acts of kindness, and always ready with an encouraging word or a comforting hug.
Olga is survived by her devoted husband, Adalberto; her children, Veronica , Albert (Norma) and Venessa (Wally, Jr.); her sisters, Sara Garcia, Carolina Perez, and Frances Garcia; and her beloved grandchildren Anyssa, Nyla, Ava, Kamila, Wally III, Adriana, Karina. Her family will forever carry her in their hearts, cherishing the countless memories and the profound impact she had on their lives.
A viewing to honor Olga's life will be held on Tue, April 28, 2026 at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home, 701 East Interstate Highway 2 Mission, Texas 78572 at 4pm; Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held on April 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, located at 620 Dunlap Ave, Mission, TX 78572. Burial Services to follow at Burial at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery 3601-3611 North Taylor Road Mission, Tx 78573 at 11am.
Family and friends are invited to gather to pay their respects and share in the love and memories that Olga so generously gave throughout her life.
