Ole'Mai Hinton, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of the Richmond, Kentucky community, passed away peacefully at her home on July 13, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on December 7, 1936, in Richmond, Ole'Mai was the beloved daughter of John and Mary Hinton.
Ole'Mai lived a life filled with love, grace, and unwavering strength. She was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her. Her home, where she spent over 70 wonderful years, was a place of comfort and joy for family and friends alike.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, John and Mary, her brothers Adam and Percy Hinton, her sister Mary Johnson, and her twin grandsons, Mark and Maurice Bickerstaff. Despite the losses she endured, Ole'Mai's spirit remained unbroken, and her heart was always open.
Her legacy lives on through her devoted daughter, Naomi Bickerstaff, and her son, Dan Bickerstaff, along with his wife Valerie. Ole'Mai was a proud grandmother to Doreen Bickerstaff and cherished the time spent with her two grandchildren. Her family extended further to include her great-grandchildren, Stephen, Mark II, Alayan, Matthew, and Erika Bickerstaff, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Ole'Mai’s life and legacy, respecting her wishes for an intimate gathering of family and close friends.
