March 15, 1944 — August 31, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ms. Ola West Jolly on August 31, 2026. Ola was surrounded by the love and cherished memories of her family, who will forever hold her in their hearts. Born on March 15, 1944, in Texas City, Ola's life was a testament to warmth, love, and resilience. Ola was a beacon of love and strength to her family, and her legacy will continue to illuminate the lives of those she touched. Preceded in death by her beloved parents and her siblings, Bernia, Temple, Sybil, James, and Slim, she now joins them in eternal rest. She leaves behind a devoted family who will carry on her legacy of love: her sons, Jerome, Tyrone, Troy, and William, who were the lights of her life; her beloved grandchildren, Adrian (Karter), William, Chris, Davon, and Jordan, and a great-grandchild who brought her immense joy. Ola's love extended beyond her immediate family to include a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Ola found joy in life's simple pleasures, which she often shared with those around her. She was an avid fisher, finding serenity and joy in the great outdoors. Her love for playing dominoes provided countless moments of laughter and camaraderie. Ola was also a talented softball player, relishing the excitement and teamwork the game offered. Her kitchen was always a place of warmth and comfort, where she expressed her love through the delicious meals she prepared. Ola's faith was an integral part of her life, and she found fellowship and spiritual strength at Mt. Paran Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City. A service to celebrate Ola's life will be held on September 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Mt. Paran Missionary Baptist Church, 601 1st Ave N, Texas City, Texas 77591. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Ola's memory. The family of Ms. Ola West Jolly extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at The Rio for their unwavering love, care, and kindness. Your dedication provided Ola with comfort and companionship, and for that, we are eternally grateful. Ola West Jolly's spirit will forever remain a part of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
