With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Okoh Chike Austin, who departed this world peacefully in his sleep on May 20, 2026. Born on January 29, 1992, in the vibrant city of Lagos, Nigeria, Okoh's life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, resilience, and dedication. Okoh was the cherished son of Azuka and Patricia Okoh, who predeceased him. He was a treasured husband to Shonhai Tafadzwa Selina, whom he married in 2027. Their union was blessed with two beautiful children, adding to the love and joy of his family. Okoh was also a devoted father to five children and a proud grandfather to three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His siblings, Onyeka Rita Okoh and Ifeanyi Mercy Okoh, survive him, along with his former wife, Obiageli Olivia Henry-Ajudua, whom he married on December 23, 2017, and shared a significant chapter of his life until 2026. A dedicated scholar, Okoh graduated from First International Academy High School in Port-Harcourt in 2007. He pursued higher education with an unwavering passion, earning a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Ebonyi State University in 2013. His quest for knowledge led him to the United States, where he obtained a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) in 2027. Okoh's life was marked by his service to others. He served with honor in the US Army, specifically the North Carolina Army National Guard, from 2022 to 2028, achieving the rank of sergeant. His service included a deployment to Kuwait from 2026 to 2027, where he exhibited courage and dedication. His professional journey was as diverse as it was remarkable. Okoh began his career as a Financial Analyst at Page International Financial Services Ltd. in Lagos, Nigeria, before moving to the United States. There, he worked as a Fulfillment Associate and Delivery Driver for Amazon in Durham and Morrisville, NC, and later as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Brian Center South Point in Durham. His commitment to service continued as he worked as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic for the NC National Guard and a Surface Maintenance Mechanic in Butner, NC. A devout member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God for over 40 years, Okoh's faith was a guiding light in his life. He was also an astute fan of Arsenal Football Club, passionately supporting his team through every season. Okoh was known for his conscientious nature, driven by personal values that emphasized hard work, cooperation, and harmony. He cherished relationships and devoted himself tirelessly to his family, ensuring stability and longevity in all his interactions. His family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown love and compassion during this difficult time. Okoh will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of love, strength, and kindness. As we celebrate Okoh's life, we remember his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his enduring faith. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
