Ofelia Palafox Torres
June 7, 1945 — August 6, 2026
In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Ofelia Palafox De Torres, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed away on August 6, 2026. Born on June 7, 1945, in the picturesque town of Aldama, Guanajuato, Mexico, Ofelia was the cherished daughter of Sebastian Palafox and Micaela Molina. She was preceded by her beloved husband, Manuel Torres, with whom she shared a beautiful life for many years.
Ofelia and Manuel married in December 1965. They moved to California in search of new opportunities and a promising future, where they built a warm and nurturing home for their four children: Maria, Benny, Marta, and Manuel, Jr.
Throughout her life, Ofelia worked tirelessly as a field worker, a testament to her enduring perseverance and dedication. Even after retiring in her sixties, she never ceased to inspire those around her with her unwavering spirit and kindness.
Ofelia’s life was enriched by her love for simple pleasures. An avid fan of novelas and Dodgers games, she particularly admired the talent of Ohtani. Her hands were rarely idle, often busy crocheting beautiful doilies that she delighted in gifting to loved ones. With a keen mind, she enjoyed the quiet challenge of word searches. Ofelia was also known for her vibrant walks around town, often accompanied by her grandchildren in strollers.
Her social nature and open heart meant that she never met a stranger. Language was never a barrier for Ofelia; she could connect with anyone, often making friends with a simple, warm conversation. Her legacy of love and laughter lives on through her 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories of their grandmother.
A service to honor Ofelia’s remarkable life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Marshall-Spoo Funeral Chapel, located at 1239 Longbranch Ave., Grover Beach, CA 93433.
Ofelia Palafox Torres leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering kindness. Her infectious smile and generous spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
