Octavio Andrade

November 10, 1948 — October 10, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Octavio Andrade, who departed this world on October 10, 2026; just one month shy of his 78th birthday. Born on November 10, 1948, in the vibrant city of Mexico City, Mexico. Octavio was the cherished child #11 of Antonio Andrade Zebadua and Esperanza Amezcua Alcibar. He came to live to Glendale, California in 1968. He married Herlinda Del Socorro Mayin in 1971 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, ("Mexico") then returned to Glendale, California and had 2 children. Octavio was predeceased by his siblings Juana, Antonio, Mercedes, Jose, and Alicia and leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure his memory. He is survived by Apolinar Martinez Galan, whom he shared 28 years together, his children, Jorge Andres and Veronica, and his cherished grandchildren, Amanda and Anthony, and his precious great-grandsons, three-year-old Anthony Nikolas (“Papas”) and one year-old Matteo Alexander. His family was his greatest blessing, his pride and joy, and the heart of his world. The love he gave them and the memories they created together will be treasured for generations to come. He is remembered fondly by his siblings, Dolores, Maria Del Carmen, Guadalupe, Olivio, Jesus, Fernando, and Eduardo. He is also survived by a large, loving extended family, including many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews—whose lives he enriched with his kindness and wisdom. Octavio's life was rich in experiences and achievements. He was educated at Miguel Aleman Elementary, Prevocacional Cinco Junior High, and Vocacional Cinco High School. Throughout his professional life, he contributed his time and talents to several companies, including Louis Stutz, Racks West, Crystolon, General Plating, and Atlas Homewares, from which he retired. He possessed a natural talent for dismantling electronics, repairing them, and seamlessly reassembling them. He had a rare gift for mechanics, able to diagnose any car trouble and fix it without ever taking a single formal class. Octavio's love for music and dancing was infectious, and his presence was often the life of the party. During the disco years, he could be found at Circus Disco, where his light feet and impressive dance moves captivated many. He also housed an extensive collection of disco records, with enough music to play continuously for days. Those who knew Octavio will fondly remember his unmistakable sense of humor, his bold and fearless remarks, and, of course, “that look”—the legendary expression that could say everything without him having to utter a single word. Whether he was making someone laugh, sharing his honest opinion, or offering a piece of advice, Octavio always made sure he was heard and never forgotten. His personality was one of a kind, and his presence could never be duplicated.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Octavio Andrade welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
