March 1, 2013 — July 22, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Nylah Naomi Brielle Martin, who left this world far too soon on July 22, 2026. Born on March 1, 2013, in Roanoke, Virginia, Nylah graced us with 13 years of laughter, light, and love that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Nylah was a vivacious spirit, always remembered for her infectious laughter and the joy she brought to those around her. Her goofiness could light up any room, and her sharp wit and humor left everyone smiling. Outgoing and exceptionally bright, Nylah was a beacon of happiness and positivity, always willing to lend a hand or a smile to those in need. She was a cherished daughter to Latoya Banks and the late Travis Martin, who passed away before her. Nylah was also preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Rhonda Lee Poindexter, whose memory she held dear. The loving support of her family was a cornerstone of her short life. Nylah was on the cusp of entering the 8th grade, a milestone she was eagerly looking forward to. Her academic brilliance was only matched by her passion for life. She loved spending time with her friends, creating joyful memories on TikTok, and savoring her favorite snacks, Takis. Nylah found joy in the simple pleasures of summer days and the soothing embrace of the beach, where her laughter echoed across the waves. A service to honor Nylah’s memory will be held on July 29, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home, located at 62 Virginia Marketplace Drive. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Nylah are invited to join in celebrating the beautiful life she lived and the wonderful memories she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Nylah’s generous spirit and her enduring love for helping others. Though her time with us was brief, Nylah’s spirit and love will forever remain in our hearts. We take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her father and grandmother, shining brightly in the heavens above.
